Rice Semiya Puttu Recipe From Scratch

I have already shared a post about PUTTU FLOUR from scratch and here comes another recipe Rice Semiya Puttu from scratch which requires a mill to get it ground with thread like semiya structures. If you don’t have access to mill you can just ground them in your mixie, but you cannot yield strings using mixie.
For this puttu recipe you need parboiled rice and it has to be soaked for 4 hours and ground wet to get those string like structures. You can prepare this a day before and use it the next day for breakfast. You need to give two steams to make it soft and cooked well.Just add coconut and sugar before serving, mine turned a bit soggy because of adding sugar when it was still hot.You don’t have to rely on store bought puttu flour anymore, just follow these simple steps and make your own flour for your lovely family members.
