Onion Pakoda Recipe

Thinly sliced onions with some besan flour is all you need to make these crispy pakodas.You can serve them for lunch or in the evening with some GINGER CARDAMOM TEA.An easy and quick snack recipe ,so perfect for prevailing winter season.
Too much of besan flour would make them soft like bajji ,so be careful while besan flour (chickpea flour) and adding rice flour helps in yielding crispy pakodas.You can add other ingredients like coriander leaves ,mint leaves and cumin for more flavor.Do try this crispy pakoda at home and have a wonderful evening time with your family.

INGREDIENTS

2 cups thinly sliced onions

2 green chilies (chopped)

1/2 cup besan flour/ kadalai maavu/chickpea flour

2 tbsp rice flour

1 tsp red chilly powder

1/2 tsp turmeric powder

3/4 tsp grated ginger

Few curry leaves

Salt to taste

Oil for frying

METHOD

Take some thinly sliced onions in a wide mixing bowl.Add green chilies ,grated ginger and curry leaves.

Add chilly powder,turmeric powder,salt and mix well.

Then add besan flour ,rice flour and mix without adding water.Let it rest for sometime.

Heat oil in a kadai ,take small amount of the dough,split and drop them in small portions in oil.Fry till golden brown and transfer to kitchen paper to remove excess oil.After cooling store them in an airtight container.
