Kothu Kari kulambu is made with minced mutton.Kothu kari must be favorite dish for most of the non vegetarians. Kothu kari with parota or egg dosai tastes really great but also goes well with idly,idhiyappam,aapam,poori and chapathi. Here s a simple recipe on how to make Kothu Kari Kulambu with simple steps and pictures.
INGREDIENTS
1/4 kg minced meat
10 shallots chopped
1 & 1/2 cups coconut milk
2 tsp chilli powder
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
1 & 1/2 kari masala powder
1 tbsp oil
Salt to taste
TO GRIND
4 cloves of garlic
1 inch of ginger
1 tsp grated coconut
MASALA TO GRIND
A small cinnamon stick
1/2 tsp fennel seeds
1 star anise
3 Cloves
METHOD
Heat oil in a pressure cooker add onions , minced meat ,turmeric powder and saute for 5 mins in medium flame stirring occasionally.
Grind the masala items first,then add ginger ,garlic,grated coconut and grind everything together to a fine paste.
Add this ground mixture to the minced meat and stir to mix them well.
Add the coconut milk,chilli powder ,salt and mix them well
Close the cooker with the lid and pressure cook for 3 whistles,then keep in simmer flame for 15 mins and switch off the stove.
Open the cooker when the pressure is completely released.
Kothu Kari Kulambu is ready to serve.
